I just started Guppy and shrimp breeding so you may just want to stick to the information that the big guys have. But so far what I got might be helpful. I figured out that Guppies love the temperatures between 78F and 82F. It is a really good idea to cycle your tank about 3 weeks before you get your fish, that will be anough time to let your ammounia, nitrate, and nitrite levels go down and your bacteria levels go up.

For breeding them I will have a lot more in a bit, but so far. I know that male have something called a Gonopodium on their bottom side unlike females who have just a normal fin that can fan out. Females also have a Gravid spot near the rear of their bodies that is quite dark. Now males only need to insert sperm once and the female CAN have up to 5 batches! Now female guppies have a fry of 5-50 guppies every month, so it would be a verry good idea to seperate the males and females.

Now for taking care of the guppy babies or fry, you might want a 5 1/2 gallon tank. Depending on your money and space. I have 1-5 1/2 gallon tank, 2-10 gallon tanks and a 12 gallon tank. the 5 1/2 is for the guppy fries, the 10's are for seperating the males and females, and the 12 gallon is for the shrimp. That cost me about 450$.  fry take verry well ground up flakes just put then in a zip-lock. You might want Baby Brine Shrimp too, the are verry verry helpful.
